Jillian Michaels is a personal trainer, who scored herself the training position on NBC's show, The Biggest Loser.
Jillian's passion for fitness training commenced from 17 years of martial arts practice. During her teenage years, she was significantly overweight. As a result, her mother enrolled her into a martial arts class. It is in this class where she developed her philosophy of training, whom she learnt from her teacher, Robert David Margolin. This philosophy consisted of helping people both physically and psychologically. In addition, she stresses the factors of fitness, nutrition and behavioural changes. Her devotion to helping others enables her to be a life coach to those she trains.
Jillian shares her secrets of weight loss in her books, Winning by Losing: Drop the Weight, Change your Life and Making The Cut. In addition to her books, she has released some DVDs to maximise home workout routines.
Jillian Michaels holds a black belt in Muay Thai and Akarui-Do. Since 1993, she has two personal training certificates from NESTA (National Exercise & Sports Training Association) and AFAA (American Fitness Association of America).
Jillian's approach to strength training can be transformed from the gym to daily life. She is proficient in reebok core, injury rehabilitation, endurance training, muscle growth, fat reduction and sports nutrition.
Currently, Jillian lives in Los Angeles in America with her dog, Baxter (Chihuahua).
